Univision

Univision’s NewsPort building is a 150,000 square foot operations/production facility that houses the network’s news division Noticias Univision, the local O&O station WLTV, and the Fusion channel – Univision’s groundbreaking joint venture with ABC News to create the first English-language 24/7 news network targeted at young Hispanics and millenials.

The NewsPort facility was created by extensively renovating a former office and warehouse that is less than two miles from Miami International Airport, and directly in line with one of its busiest runways. RBDG designed acoustical modifications to the building shell that included raising the roof over the three largest studios and the 280-station newsroom, then creating a separate interior concrete structure inside the building.

The technical spaces include five production control rooms with isolated audio control rooms, master control for the news network, acquisition and transmission, audio sweetening, voiceover booths, graphics, three smaller studios, and 24 edit bays.
